SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2008 2009
In 2008, Reliance Retail implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0, establishing an enterprise ERP Financial deployment that centralized core procurement and materials management processes. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment configured SAP Materials Management MM capabilities to support vendor management, SKU creation, and purchase requisition to purchase order processing within the ERP Financial landscape. The implementation focused on SAP MM driven workflows for vendor onboarding, vendor mapping to SKUs, PR and PO creation using the SAP MM tool, and inventory receipt processing reflected in GRN and ASN reporting. Operational capabilities included SKU creation and listing, vendor mapping, discount upload processes, and routine use of Excel alongside SAP for transactional data entry and reconciliation. Operational coverage included Reliance Retail operations in Bengaluru, Karnataka, supporting vendor management and operations teams responsible for SKU and procurement lifecycle activities. Reporting outputs such as GRN report, ASN messages, and stock on hand SOH reports were implemented as part of routine operational reporting and manager level requests. Governance and process changes centered on formalizing PR PO approval workflows, standardizing vendor onboarding steps within SAP MM, and instituting SKU mapping and discount upload procedures as part of daily operations. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the transactional backbone for procurement, inventory receipt, vendor management, and related operational controls in the ERP Financial category.

SAP Legacy SAP BusinessObjects Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2010 2010
In 2010, Reliance Retail implemented SAP BusinessObjects as a core component of its Analytics and BI program to support Business Analytics & Intelligence functions. The implementation was executed within a broader BI initiative led from 2007 through 2014, with an 18 person system architecture and analytics team responsible for end to end project lifecycle management, EDW design, validation and production migration of business intelligence capabilities. The SAP BusinessObjects deployment was built against an enterprise data warehouse architecture and delivered functional modules for inventory reporting, category analytics, store operations dashboards, gross margin reporting, real time stock out and potential stock out reporting, and ad hoc analysis for top and middle management. Development artifacts included BusinessObjects reports and dashboards, SAP BW BIW constructs, analytic model building and role based access configuration for governance. Integrations were implemented with transactional SAP modules including SAP MM and SAP SD, ETL pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter 8.5.1, and Oracle based data stores. The program also interfaced with SAP BW and subsequently with SAP HANA environments, where SLT server setup, view creation, HANA model building and role creation were executed as part of the retail analytics roadmap. Operational governance centralized BI ownership in the System Architecture Group and established standards for the EDW and KPI reporting across supply chain, category management, finance, CRM and HR. Delivery teams included business analysts, ETL developers, SAP BIW programmers, BusinessObjects developers, data analysts, data scientists and DBAs, and the program completed multiple proof of concept evaluations for analytics platforms. The implementation supported advanced analytics use cases such as store segmentation and profiling, new store opening optimization, store sales and margin forecasting, inventory aging and out of stock diagnostics, and was credited internally as one of the best EDW implementations in the retail domain.
