In 2009, Ritz Safety implemented Sage 500 ERP (formerly MAS 500) to support core finance operations in its distribution business under the ERP Financial category. The rollout documented that users entered Payables into MAS500 as a primary transactional activity, establishing the Accounts Payable ledger within the new application.
The work focused on Sage 500 ERP (formerly MAS 500) Accounts Payable capabilities, with configuration covering vendor master records, invoice entry and validation, payment processing and GL posting workflows consistent with ERP Financial operations. Configuration and transaction entry centered on standard AP functionality to manage vendor invoices and maintain payables aging inside the system.
Operational responsibility rested with corporate finance and accounting teams in the United States, who used the system to process vendor invoices and control payables data for the distribution business. Governance emphasis included procedural controls for invoice entry and role based access for accounting staff to ensure consistent AP processing within Sage 500 ERP (formerly MAS 500).

| Epicor | Legacy | Epicor Prophet 21 | Distribution ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 Ritz Safety implemented Epicor Prophet 21 as its Distribution ERP to centralize core distribution functions for a US-based distributor with approximately 250 employees. The implementation was positioned as an enterprise distribution platform, with Epicor Prophet 21 providing order management, inventory control, purchasing and customer management capabilities across the company’s distribution network.
Configuration and functional scope emphasized standard Distribution ERP workflows, including inventory transactions, order-to-cash processes, purchasing and warehouse workflow orchestration, together with electronic data interchange. Ritz Safety also operated an internal EDI program with custom mapping for outside vendors and customers, and Epicor Prophet 21 was implemented to work with that EDI program to support supplier and customer transaction flows.
The technical deployment incorporated a Microsoft SQL Server data platform, following a prior migration of the main production SQL Server to 2016, which served as the backend for ERP data and reporting. Operational support and change control were reinforced by an internal IT helpdesk ticketing system that provided remote support, time tracking, a knowledge base and asset tracking, which were used to manage Prophet 21 support requests across 13 distribution locations and centralized IT operations.
Governance focused on process stabilization and company-wide application support, with IT responsibilities covering troubleshooting, process improvement and application-level configuration for Epicor Prophet 21. The implementation narrative centers on embedding Epicor Prophet 21 into Ritz Safety’s distribution operations, aligning ERP configuration with existing EDI mappings and database infrastructure to support ongoing order, inventory and supplier transaction management.
