Esker SA Legacy Esker Accounts Payable AP Automation ERP n/a 2022 2022
Rothschild & Co selected and deployed Esker Accounts Payable in 2022 to replace a legacy accounts payable system, adopting an AP Automation solution to centralize invoice processing for training and event spend. The deployment focused at the Learning & Development department level, with Esker used to process invoices from training vendors, manage allocation and evidence of training funds, and oversee departmental budget spending across domestic and foreign offices. Workday is used in parallel to create training programmes, and Esker is operated alongside Workday to support invoice-driven budget control and monthly reporting for the L&D function. The implementation standardizes invoice capture and approval workflows for training-related spend and supports operational administration of events, vendor payments, and departmental expense reporting.

Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM Kainos 2017 2018
In 2017, Rothschild & Co implemented Workday Absence Management. The deployment of Workday Absence Management was executed as a location-by-location rollout and forms part of the company’s Absence and Leave Management capabilities, with initial coverage in Australia, North America, the United Kingdom, Guernsey and Switzerland and further countries to be considered in due course. The implementation focused on standardized absence tracking, configurable leave entitlements and manager approval workflows while preserving local legal parameterization. In France and Monaco the configuration includes detailed recording of maternity and paternity leave, additional leave, breastfeeding leave, absences for working accident and sick leave, reflecting country specific statutory and policy requirements. Architecturally the Workday Absence Management deployment is layered on the group-wide HR system to provide global consistency for core HR processes, with country level parameterization to accommodate differing working hours and statutory rules. Kainos acted as the implementation partner for configuration and localization, supporting staged rollouts and country specific setups, and the solution sits alongside local HR and line management processes rather than replacing centrally managed governance. Governance maintains local ownership for day-to-day monitoring, with working hours managed and monitored by local management and HR teams and absenteeism actively monitored by line managers and local offices. The group-wide HR system provides operational consistency across HR processes, and the Group retains its commitment to minimising compulsory redundancies and operating responsible redundancy procedures and mitigation measures.

Avaloq Legacy Avaloq Core Core Banking ERP Services and Operations Avaloq Sourcing 2011 2012
In 2011, Rothschild & Co implemented Avaloq Core, a Core Banking application, with implementation services provided by Avaloq Sourcing. The effort targeted wealth management and custody accounting capabilities for Rothschild & Co Wealth Management UK Limited and related client reporting workflows across the Group. Avaloq Core was configured to support custody accounting, portfolio valuation and client reporting modules, and to serve as the authoritative ledger and valuation source for client portfolios. The deployment enabled generation of quarterly portfolio valuations and historic valuation extraction, with historic valuations available from 1 June 2012 when Rothschild & Co moved to Avaloq. Client-facing functionality was integrated with Rothschild & Co eAccess to deliver online account access, valuations as at close of the previous working day and a secure document safe containing statements, contract notes and tax documents. Custody and settlement workflows were modelled to reflect Group custody arrangements, client assets being custodied with Rothschild & Co Bank International Limited at St Julian’s Court St Julian’s Avenue St Peter Port Guernsey GY1 3BP, with Rothschild & Co Bank AG appointed as sub-custodian under separate agreements. The custodial chain additionally relies on market agents including BBH, HSBC, SIS and Clearstream for local market holdings, with provider selection performed on a case by case basis following due diligence and service level agreement negotiation. Operational governance was formalized alongside the system, with a Counterparty Committee reviewing counterparties every six months. The committee, comprising the Head of Investment Platform, senior investment management representatives, the Head of Dealing and Risk and Compliance representatives, assesses creditworthiness, market reputation and ongoing performance, and separately reviews credit exposures to OTC counterparties. Monthly compliance monitoring of best execution and Avaloq-driven reporting feed into these governance routines. Cash management and client money handling are defined in legal entity terms, cash being held by Rothschild & Co Bank International Limited as banker and may be placed on a pooled basis unless clients expressly prohibit specific investments. Client reporting outcomes explicitly supported by the Avaloq Core implementation include quarterly valuations, the ability to generate historic valuations from 1 June 2012 onwards and online portfolio access through Rothschild & Co eAccess.
