In 2017, Sabesp implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0, deploying an ERP Financial solution to centralize corporate process information in a single database. The Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo Sabesp replaced Benner ERP and consolidated 32 enterprise systems, provisioning access for approximately 8,000 users as part of the integrated management rollout.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation focused on ERP Financial capabilities, configuring core financial modules including Financial Accounting FI, Controlling CO, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and asset accounting to standardize and automate financial workflows. Configuration work emphasized unified master data and a single corporate ledger to streamline accounting processes and financial reporting within the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment.
Integrations were executed to connect SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with the company's existing operational systems, reflecting the replacement of 32 systems and multiple interfaces to maintain transactional continuity across corporate processes. Operational coverage targeted corporate finance and enterprise management processes across Sabesp's São Paulo operations, centralizing transactional processing and corporate information in the SAP database.
Given the deployment complexity the program acknowledged potential instability during cutover and implemented governance measures to minimize impacts, including change control, interface stabilization and user provisioning across the large user base. Sabesp communicated that it adopted the necessary mitigation measures and expected a stabilization period while SAP ERP ECC 6.0 reached steady state.
