Microsoft Infor Lawson Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Calsoft Systems 2020 2020
In 2020, Sanrio, Inc. transitioned from Infor Lawson on AS400 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform. Sanrio engaged Calsoft Systems to take over the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementation, and Calsoft led the integration and cutover work with reported timelines that include a five month completion window after engagement and an overall go live within eight months of Calsoft taking over, totaling 14 months from the project start. The Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations deployment was scoped for a midmarket footprint, supporting approximately 20 named users in Torrance, California, and focused on core finance and supply chain business functions. Implemented financial modules included General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, National Account processing, Fixed Assets, and Bank integrations, while supply chain modules covered Sales Order Processing, Shipping, Purchase Order Processing, Receiving, and Warehouse and Inventory Management. Architecturally the solution was delivered into a cloud environment to replace the AS400 architecture, improving remote access and operational continuity during Covid-19 conditions. The project required rebuilding and testing more than 30 critical interfaces across B2B, B2C, 3PL, and internal applications, explicitly including order, invoice and AR flows, ASN and shipping messages, PO, receiving and AP flows, and integrations with eCommerce endpoints such as sanrioonline.com and Amazon. Calsoft Systems worked jointly with Sanrio engineers to complete interface design, system integration testing, and cutover validation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. Project governance was restructured during delivery, with a change in IT leadership and reorganization of accounting and logistics teams, and Calsoft Systems supplying strengthened project management, solution design, documentation, user training, and post go live support. The implementation produced consolidated units of measure, improved data consistency and visibility across finance and logistics, and established a stronger accounting foundation, while the case study reports go live without major issues and without exceeding budget.
