| In-House Applications | Legacy | In-House HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016 SBICAP Securities implemented an In-House HCM as its Core HR application. The initiative was executed by the company IT department after the organization identified high cost and poor support from a third party managed HRMS, and requirement gathering was conducted directly with the HR Department to define functional scope and priorities.
The In-House HCM was developed to deliver Core HR capabilities, focusing on employee master data management, leave and attendance workflows, HR request tracking, and personnel lifecycle processes typical of Core HR systems. Configuration work emphasized role based access controls, workflow automation for approvals, and modular design to accommodate incremental feature delivery, with a manager providing technical guidance to a development subteam of four developers.
Development work included defining interfaces and operational alignment with payroll and timekeeping processes, and mapping HR operational workflows so the In-House HCM could integrate with existing HR operations. The deployment and application management model was owned by the internal IT team, reflecting an in-house hosting and support structure and centralized governance for ongoing maintenance.
Project governance relied on IT project management routines, daily task assignment, status tracking and deadline management, as described by the manager who led development activities. The decision to develop an In-House HCM arose from the need to reduce dependency on a third party managed HRMS and to improve responsiveness of support for HR business functions.
