In 2021, Siam Commercial Bank implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable as a core element of an AP Automation initiative to create a consolidated cloud financial platform. The implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable included functional modules for invoice capture and paperless invoice processing, payment processing automation, and accounts payable governance and control. Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM were used in tandem to unify budgeting, planning and financial performance workflows, enabling end to end budget and financial control processes and tighter procurement to pay sequencing.
Operationally the program integrated accounts payable workflows into the bankwide Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM architecture to support finance, accounting and procurement functions. Deloitte partnered on the delivery to configure the solution and align reconciliation and reporting processes with the cloud EPM layer, creating consolidated daily profit and loss and consolidation statements through a common data model.
Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with streamlined user experiences that reduced operational burden on IT for server management and centralized control over payables approval workflows. Results reported by the bank included improved governance and control, elimination of paper documents, the ability to complete payment processes in a single day, a reduction in days payables outstanding and a shortening of account reconciliation from around one hour to approximately ten minutes.
