The implementation focused on core AP Automation modules including invoice capture and validation, PO matching, configurable approval workflows and invoice accrual posting. Approval thresholds were aligned to operational limits used by centre finance staff, with workflows reflecting local approver authority up to $15,000, and configuration to surface accruals and month-end invoice items for financial reporting.
Converga InvoiceMe was integrated into Scentre Group operational systems that the finance team already used, notably P2P Converga for purchase order lifecycle coordination and Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for posting payable transactions and ledger updates. Reporting and forecasting flows were linked to TM1 reporting processes and to the Support Office in Sydney for recharge and intercompany chargeback handling, enabling centre-level invoice events to propagate to corporate finance systems.
Operational ownership sat with centre finance and administration teams, with the platform supporting duties such as invoice approvals, purchase order accruals, month-end journals and BWise audits of administrative controls. The deployment focused on core blockchain capabilities for document digitisation, identity-aware onboarding, transaction lifecycle management, and audit-ready reporting. IBM Blockchain Platform supported issuance, amendments, cancellations, and portfolio-level status and lifecycle visibility for guarantees, enabling new electronic three-way contract processes between banks, landlords and tenants.
Architecturally the Lygon platform ran on IBM public cloud and operated as a shared infrastructure layer connecting ANZ Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac, IBM and Scentre Group through the Lygon 1B Pty Ltd entity. The pilot onboarding pattern demonstrated fast applicant onboarding in less than 15 minutes and interoperable message flows across multiple banking participants and commercial landlords, with participating retailers such as MJ Bale and Gazman using the platform during the pilot.
Governance and rollout were managed through Lygon 1B Pty Ltd, a stand-alone company jointly owned by the five founding members, with commercial launch occurring at the end of August 2020 and broader public availability slated for early 2021. Outcomes reported in the commercialisation narrative include reducing time to issue a bank guarantee from up to one month to one day and materially lowering fraud and error risk across guaranteed portfolios, while the platform roadmap includes expanding digitised guarantee types and exploring New Zealand and other international markets.
