SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Edoc solutions 2018 2020
In 2018, Schwarz Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core SAP ERP Financial platform, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and provisioning S/4HANA Cloud to consolidate transactional processes. The implementation was positioned to provide real-time end-to-end process visibility across the retail group and to centralize financial and operational recordkeeping on a single SAP S/4 HANA instance. The deployment focused on core financial management and ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger centralization, accounts receivable and payable flows, and integrated order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows consistent with enterprise retail operations. Configuration work emphasized master data harmonization, real-time transactional posting, and finance-led reconciliation to support cross-functional process orchestration within SAP S/4 HANA. Integration workstreams included a seamless connection between SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud for the coffee production division, where a go-live was executed to bring MES execution data into the core ERP for inventory and financial alignment. Edoc solutions acted as the system integrator for the S/4 HANA rollout and the manufacturing cloud integration, executing cutover and interface delivery between ERP and MES systems. Governance was organized to treat SAP S/4 HANA as the single source of transactional truth, with executive sponsorship from CDO Rolf Schumann who cited operational excellence and growth as program drivers. The program explicitly realized a live integration for coffee production and the platform is described as running end-to-end processes with real-time data across the business, supporting standardized workflows and centralized process ownership on SAP S/4 HANA.

SAP SAP HCM (HR) SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core HR HCM n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Schwarz Group implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, transitioning core personnel administration and master data management from SAP HCM (HR). The deployment targeted group-wide HR and talent processes across retail and production business units including Lidl, Kaufland and PreZero, consolidating Core HR capabilities within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and organizing delivery through the IT - Business Consulting function based in the Neckarsulm area. The implementation emphasized talent management alongside Core HR, with explicit configuration and ongoing development of SuccessFactors instances to support Performance & Goals and Succession & Development workflows. Workstreams included conception, implementation and support of technical solutions for talent management and succession planning, plus continuous configuration of the SuccessFactors Talent suite and supplementary solutions to align HR process flows with business requirements. Operational integration relied on close exchange with internal IT departments and the planning, deployment and control of external service providers to operationalize technical configurations and connect HR workflows to group operations. The program covered advisory and enablement activities for HR and business stakeholders, embedding SuccessFactors use cases into departmental processes and enabling centralized configuration governance for personnel administration and talent modules. Governance and rollout were structured through the IT - Business Consulting team, which provided department-level advising, configuration ownership and control of external delivery partners, accompanied by intensive induction and on-the-job training at the Heilbronn location. Staffing expectations for the program emphasized consulting and project management skills, technical understanding of SAP SuccessFactors and SAP, and bilingual German and English capabilities to support cross-functional rollout and ongoing platform stewardship.

SAP Legacy SAP Retail Retail Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Schwarz Group implemented SAP Retail in the Retail Management category. Schwarz IT KG acted as the central IT service provider responsible for selection, provision, operation and further development of the underlying IT infrastructures and business applications, providing IT services for Kaufland, Lidl, Schwarz Dienstleistungen KG and Schwarz Central Services KG while taking departmental requirements into solution design consultations. The SAP Retail implementation focused on core retail management capabilities including article master and assortment management, pricing and promotions configuration, merchandise and assortment lifecycle workflows, inventory and replenishment processes and store operations orchestration consistent with Retail Management functional patterns. Solution concepts and architecture strategies were created to align SAP Retail configuration with broader transformation initiatives and to assess the effort and impact of new requirements on the overall solution. Data migration and integration were executed using SAP Data Services, Migration Cockpit and SAP ADM by Sinity, with hands on ETL development, SQL based data mapping and the creation of standards for a centralized data migration platform. The work operated in coordination with the Data Technology & Implementation department and included knowledge exchange across teams supporting international transformation projects and retail operational units. Governance for the rollout emphasized formalized solution architecture ownership, definition of migration platform standards, continuous inclusion of business requirements into scope assessments and structured handover through onboarding and mentoring. Close collaboration between implementation teams and department stakeholders was central to the program, supporting ongoing configuration changes and technical consulting for SAP Retail across Schwarz Group business functions.
