| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016, SEI Investments implemented Oracle E-Business Suite in an Oracle Release 12.1.3 environment as its ERP Financial platform for the SGP Operating Unit based in New York, NY. The engagement centered on the Procure to Pay and broader finance track, with the project role described as Procure to Pay Financials Functional Analyst covering PO, i-Procurement, AR, AP, FA, AME, Cash Management, AGIS, SLA, e-Business Tax, i-Expense and GL. SEI Investments, Oracle E-Business Suite, and ERP Financial are linked to finance and procurement functional ownership in this implementation narrative.
The implementation included detailed module configuration and business rule design. Workstreams show configuration of i-Procurement stores and catalog management, establishment of approval hierarchies in PO, definition of ASL and sourcing rules in PO, and full setup of AME including rules, attributes, conditions, notifications and parallel approval processes. Financial modules were configured across accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash management, general ledger, SLA and e-Business Tax to support record level posting, tax treatment and subledger accounting flows. Conversion programs were scoped and developed for invoices, receipts, journals and customer address data to populate the Oracle E-Business Suite application data model.
Documentation and testing artifacts were produced as part of the implementation lifecycle. Business analysis deliverables included GAP analysis, Business Requirement Documents BRD, Functional Specification Documents FSD, Technical Specification Documents TSD, and configuration templates such as MD050, BR100, TE020 and TE030. Functional specifications and technical specifications were written for customizations and data conversions, and integration and system test cases were prepared and executed. The project performed unit testing reviews, integration testing, and supported user acceptance testing and end-user training for finance and procure to pay teams.
Operational governance and rollout responsibilities were defined along the finance track. The role included gathering and validating user requirements, reviewing functional specifications and change requests with stakeholders, communicating requirements to the technical team, preparing design documentation, and managing resource allocation. Daily status updates were exchanged with offshore teams and the client, and the implementation supported new R12 features for the Procure to Pay track while coordinating system configuration, customization reviews, and unit test plan validation.
The work emphasized functional configuration, customization specifications and data migration to operationalize Oracle E-Business Suite within SEI Investments finance operations. Integration scope focused on data conversion programs and functional integration across subledger and ledger modules to enable end to end procure to pay and financial accounting processes under the ERP Financial deployment.
