In 2013, SFR Business implemented BMC Helix Remedyforce for IT Service Management. The deployment targeted the operator’s core service operations in its communications environment and centralized incident and service request handling through a single ITSM application.
BMC Helix Remedyforce was configured to interface with the monitoring and reporting layers. Implementations included a web interface for configuration of Nagios and HP NNMi and a web interface for access to HP NNM iSPI performance graphics. A reporting solution was scoped as study and model and leveraged Talend ETL, TIBCO JasperSoft and PostgreSql to consolidate operational metrics and feed the service management platform.
The implementation integrated creation of incident tickets from Netcool using SOAP into the BMC Remedy ITSM workflows to automate event to ticket conversion. Orchestration of IT tasks was studied and modeled using HP Operations Orchestration with REST to provide triggers for remediation workflows. Cisco CallManager monitoring was incorporated using SOAP and AXL interfaces alongside Nagios and Cacti to capture telephony performance and alerts.
Operational coverage emphasized incident management, monitoring integration, reporting pipelines and orchestration handoffs, aligning service desk workflows with telemetry sources. Governance work focused on modeling and embedding event to ticket flows and establishing reporting and orchestration process definitions as part of staged studies and proofs of concept.
