In 2016 Sidley Austin implemented Emburse Invoice Enterprise as its AP Automation platform to standardize accounts payable intake and processing within the firm’s Accounting function in the US-IL-Chicago location. The deployment positioned Emburse Invoice Enterprise as the central system for vendor invoice capture, coding to general ledger and client matter accounts, and structured approval routing under Accounts Payable Supervisor oversight.
Emburse Invoice Enterprise was configured to support invoice entry and audit workflows, automated approval requests and follow up, payment batch review prior to disbursement, 1099 processing controls, and month end Accounts Payable closing procedures. The implementation also supported high volume transaction handling, line level coding and reporting, and continued reliance on Excel for complex uploads and ad hoc report creation to complement system imports.
Operational integrations included a documented reimbursement workflow that remained tied to Chrome River Expense for personnel expense processing, and bulk data exchanges with the firm ERP via Excel-based uploads to post transactions and prepare payment batches. The solution covered day to day AP activities performed by Accounts Payable Assistants, Supervisors and Managers, and supported vendor statement reconciliation, vendor check preparation and mailing workflows used by firm personnel.
Governance was implemented through role-based approval workflows, supervisor review of payment batches, and standardized month end close procedures to ensure completeness of AP transactions. Training and process alignment focused on embedding Emburse Invoice Enterprise into established AP tasks such as audit entry, invoice coding, inquiry handling and preservation of confidentiality, while preserving existing ERP posting and reporting touchpoints.

In 2022, Sidley Austin deployed edays Absence Management as its firmwide Absence and Leave Management solution to centralize leave tracking and standardize time-off workflows across the global HR organization. The deployment was led through the Senior HRIS Manager function, which assumed responsibility for configuration governance, ongoing administration, and development of HRIS training materials and procedures to support adoption across the firm.
The edays Absence Management implementation focused on core absence workflows and configuration of absence types, entitlement calculations, approval routing, and reporting capabilities aligned with enterprise HR processes. The implementation narrative reflects typical Absence and Leave Management capabilities such as automated leave request routing, configurable accruals and balances, manager approvals, and HR reporting, all configured under the direction of the Senior HRIS Manager who provides application configuration oversight.
Integrations were scoped and managed in collaboration with the IT HR Portfolio team to maintain upstream and downstream data flows, and the HRIS role references existing systems that remain part of the operational landscape including PeopleSoft HCM, WorkForce Time & Attendance, Hyland Onbase Personnel File Management, and iCIMS Recruiting and Onboarding. The program emphasized synchronized data exchange between edays Absence Management and PeopleSoft HCM for employee master data, and coordination with time and attendance systems for absence validation, while the HRIS team owned update cycles and integration maintenance.
Governance and process controls were established to support global rollout and to institutionalize best practices, including development of standard operating procedures, HRIS training, and continuous improvement cycles. The Senior HRIS Manager role encompassed ownership of short to mid term execution, staff development and mentoring, oversight of HR report development, and alignment of absence management configuration with the firmwide HR data and analytics strategy.

| Equifax | Legacy | Equifax LawLogix Edge | Case Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Sidley Austin implemented Equifax LawLogix Edge as a Case Management application to operationalize immigration case tracking and visa administration across the firm. The deployment established a centralized visa-tracking database that records visa types, beneficiary data, filing milestones, and visa expiration dates to support ongoing compliance and case visibility.
Configuration work focused on core Case Management capabilities, including structured intake fields for visa information, case lifecycle states to open, close, and retire matters, document management for uploading required immigration documentation, and a scheduled reporting module to run monthly status reports. Equifax LawLogix Edge was configured to maintain expiration date fields and status indicators to drive recurring reporting and case status reconciliation.
Operational coverage centered on the firm’s immigration support workflows and HR and legal operations teams that manage employee visa matters, with user roles aligned to case ownership and document access. No external system integrations are specified in source notes, so the implementation emphasis is on the internal visa-tracking database, role-based access within the application, and monthly reporting cadence executed from Equifax LawLogix Edge.
Governance was implemented around standardized case lifecycle procedures and monthly reporting rhythms, with process controls to ensure cases are opened, documented, and retired according to firm policy. The configuration solidified consistent data capture for visa expirations and created a repeatable operational pattern for immigration case management within Equifax LawLogix Edge.
