In 2016, Singapore University of Technology and Design implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management. Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management was deployed as the university's Absence and Leave Management capability within its PeopleSoft HRMS landscape, aligning absence processes with Core HR and Global Payroll functions across the institution's HR organization and employee population of approximately 813 staff.
The implementation configured core absence functionality typical of Absence and Leave Management solutions, including absence recording, accrual and entitlement management, and approval workflow automation, integrated into PeopleSoft HRMS operational modules. The team administered the application security framework for Absence Management and developed customized reports and user training to support HR operationalization and case level handling of leave requests.
Integrations were established within the SUTD HR technology stack, including coexistence interfacing between PeopleSoft Absence Management and Oracle Fusion Talent Management for goals and performance data exchange, and linkages to PageUp People for recruiting, onboarding and learning data flows. HR analytics consumption was enabled through Qlik Sense, which sourced absence and employee master data for reporting and operational insight across HR, payroll and talent functions.
Governance and operational ownership rested with the university HRIS function, which performed system administration, procurement liaison, vendor coordination, patching and testing, security setup and audit compliance for the Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management deployment. The HRIS team also managed training rollout and ongoing functional support, ensuring Absence and Leave Management processes were embedded into HR workflows and governance practices.
