| nCino | Legacy | nCino’s Mortgage Suite (formerly: SimpleNexus) | Loan Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2024 | 2024 | In 2024, SMBC Trust Bank implemented nCino’s Mortgage Suite (formerly: SimpleNexus) to digitize its mortgage origination and servicing workflows within Loan Management. The bank targeted its wholesale mortgage business for high net worth and foreign customers, where paper based operations had reached capacity and online application support was required to scale customer onboarding in Japan and the Asia Pacific region. The deployment emphasized end to end mortgage capability, including online application intake, customer portal access with shared information, document management, workflow based underwriting, and automated approval routing. nCino’s Mortgage Suite was configured to consolidate loan origination and review workflows into a single product, leveraging the solution's scalability to combine standard modules and meet a wide variety of mortgage scenarios typical of Loan Management systems. Integration architecture centered on the Salesforce platform, explicitly using Salesforce as the bank's customer management platform and as the underlying architecture for the nCino deployment. Operational scope covered the wholesale division mortgage function, supporting a customer base where foreign borrowers account for roughly half of loan volumes, and enabling faster information sharing between customer portal and internal teams. Governance and rollout were led by the Group Head of Digitalization Promotion Department and Manager of System Management Department, Satoshi Watanabe, with nCino providing a speedy implementation and iterative modification of standard functionality through maintenance and support. Reported outcomes included elimination of waiting time in the customer portal due to shared information, improved operational efficiency with the bank handling about 30 percent more mortgage volume without increasing headcount, contributions to business performance and sales channel development, and a reduction in time from application to review and approval by approximately 30 percent. |
