| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Sony implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as an ERP Financial solution for its finance and accounting organization. The initiative targeted core financial management across Sony's corporate finance, controllership, and accounting teams, aligning them with a cloud native ERP Financial platform.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured with core modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, revenue management, tax management, and multi entity consolidation. Configuration work emphasized a harmonized chart of accounts, intercompany accounting rules, period close orchestration, and role based access to support statutory reporting and close workflows.
The deployment leveraged the cloud SaaS architecture of Oracle NetSuite ERP, using centralized configurations, workflow automation for approvals, and persistent audit trails. Design choices focused on standardized accounting processes and automated transactional flows to reduce manual reconciliations and to enforce consistent financial controls.
Governance was structured around finance process owners and centralized control frameworks, with attention to master data governance for accounts and suppliers, staged rollouts by business unit, and formal change management and training programs. Operational scope covered corporate finance and downstream accounting operations, with documented procedures to operationalize the new ERP Financial processes.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Sony implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR platform to establish a global HRIS and centralize employee data across manufacturing, corporate, and regional operations. The Workday HCM deployment was positioned to standardize core employee records, organizational management, and HR business processes across Sony's global footprint.
The implementation encompassed typical Workday HCM functional capabilities including core employee lifecycle management, position and organizational structures, absence and time tracking, benefits administration, and foundational talent management and reporting. Configuration work emphasized business process framework, role-based security, and configurable business events to support centralized HR workflows and local compliance variance where required.
Integrations were executed under a Workday Integration Consultant model using Workday integration capabilities, APIs, and secure file exchange patterns to synchronize data with payroll environments, time capture systems, identity and access services, and localized HR data sources. The architecture relied on an integration layer to manage inbound and outbound feeds, maintain data transformation rules, and instrument monitoring for ongoing data quality and reconciliation.
Governance established a central HRIS team with regional HR leads to manage configuration, change control, and data governance, supported by phased rollouts and role-based training for regional operations. Ongoing support responsibilities included integration maintenance, updates to business process configurations, and governance of master data sources within Workday HCM.

| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Legacy | AWS Bedrock | Generative AI Platforms | AI Development | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025 Sony deployed AWS Bedrock as a core component of its enterprise AI and Engagement Platform under the Generative AI Platforms category, positioning the application to serve both internal operations and customer engagement use cases. AWS Bedrock and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore provide agentic AI and generative model hosting, delivering enterprise grade security, observability, and scalability to Sony Group Corporation globally.
The implementation centers on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to build, deploy, and manage AI agents that support content drafting, customer inquiry responses, forecasting, fraud detection, brainstorming, and idea development. Sony is also leveraging the Amazon Nova Forge program to create specialized models, and early results indicate a Nova Forge model can enable an AI agent that increases the efficiency of the companys review and assessment process by 100 times.
Architecturally the deployment is integrated with a multi service AWS environment, including Amazon SageMaker as a component of the Sony Data Ocean data platform. Sony Data Ocean processes up to 760 terabytes of data drawn from over 500 dataset types to feed models and personalization, while the Sony Engagement Platform reuses core backend functions of PlayStations online service to extend accounts, payments, data capabilities, and security across entertainment categories. The platform currently processes about 150,000 inference requests daily and is planned to scale dramatically, with an expected 300 fold increase over the coming years.
Governance is organized at the enterprise level to provide secure, auditable access to generative and agentic AI across Sony Group companies, and the implementation is scoped to support employees and creators across Sonys five business segments. AWS Bedrock is positioned to power both internal productivity workflows and customer facing engagement features, enabling centralized model management, observability, and policy controls while aligning the Generative AI Platforms capability to Sonys operational and fan engagement objectives.
