The implementation included provisioning of data center appliances and both bare metal and virtual machine configurations, with the Senior Legal IT Administrator setting requirements and administering all bare metal and VM solutions for client applications. Functional capabilities centered on legal hold orchestration, eDiscovery case management, records and information management integration, and secure sensitive data handling reserved for Legal Holds, while Windows desktop and server imaging supported endpoint consistency for the legal user base.
Exterro Zapproved ZDiscovery was integrated into an environment that included iManage consolidation, SharePoint site and library security administration, ProofPoint archiving, Legal Hold Pro, and Serengeti administration, with connectivity enabled for third party vendor transfers via SMB and Aspera. The team worked with vendors to assure compliance for third party applications, cloud storage, and security, and implemented firewall changes to facilitate SMB and Aspera connections for eDiscovery data movement.
Governance and operational ownership were centralized under the Senior Legal IT Administrator team lead, who maintained IT documentation, managed procurement and budgetary requirements for legal systems, and provided desktop support and helpdesk functions for the Legal department. Change control focused on application configuration, vendor compliance checks, and procedural controls for handling legally reserved sensitive data within the Exterro Zapproved ZDiscovery deployment.
