SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2015 2015
In 2015 Spirit AeroSystems implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize ERP Financial reporting and to support a targeted SCM Enhancement project converting spreadsheet models into enterprise-grade reports. The engagement focused on delivering commercial and military supply chain reporting alongside finance metrics, with workstreams addressing KPI consolidation, dashboarding, and financial model conversion into governed BI artifacts. Configuration and functional work emphasized financial reporting and supply chain metric consolidation consistent with ERP Financial capabilities, including cost and financial ledger reconciliation and material-centric reporting workflows. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the transactional anchor while semantic universes were developed in SAP BO 4.1 using the IDT tool to provide a governed reporting layer, and reports were delivered via WEBI and Tableau to surface KPIs and dashboards to business users. Data architecture integrated Oracle 11g as a reporting extraction layer, where Oracle 11g stored procedures populated materialized views that fed the SAP BO universes and Tableau data sources, and HANA and BW were present in the environment for additional analytic and modeling use. The implementation work included ETL-oriented data extraction, semantic layer design, and multi-tool reporting orchestration linking SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with SAP BO 4.1, Tableau 9, Oracle 11g, HANA, and BW. Program governance was operationalized through joint development and test team cycles, coordination with a Tech Mahindra team on model design for Commercial SCM and Military SCM reports, and end user driven UAT to finalize deliverables. The role delivered conversion of complex Excel based financial models into SAP BO 4.1 reporting formats, established business-to-technical requirement gap definitions, and rolled out WEBI and Tableau dashboards to finance and supply chain stakeholders.
