In 2019, Squarespace implemented Coupa Invoice as its AP Automation solution. The deployment targeted core accounts payable and procurement workflows within the finance organization, positioning Coupa Invoice as the system of record for invoice intake and approval while aligning with existing procurement processes.
The implementation encompassed invoice capture and processing, supplier master creation and relationship management, and detailed company mappings, including general ledger account mappings and custom fields. Coupa Invoice was configured by internal administrators to support invoice creation workflows, user provisioning, and role-based approvals, with documentation and training materials produced to support adoption.
The Coupa Invoice implementation was integrated into Squarespace financial operations, with invoices created in Coupa and payments executed through NetSuite, preserving GL posting and payment orchestration. Kyriba was included in the toolset alongside NetSuite for treasury and cash management coordination, and finance teams used Excel and Google Sheets for ad hoc reconciliation and reporting alongside the Coupa Invoice platform.
Governance and rollout were driven by a project manager and a Coupa administrator role, who managed user creation, company mapping updates, and end user training sessions. Operational ownership rested with Accounts Payable and finance staff who processed all company invoices in Coupa, maintained supplier data, and coordinated payment execution in NetSuite, establishing routine workflows and centralized AP control.
