Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2016 2017
In 2016, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as a cloud-based Oracle Fusion ERP deployment. The implementation was led from the finance function reporting to the CFO and centered on the Accounting organization in Memphis TN, with a finance leadership team responsible for nine direct reports overseeing Accounts Payable and Tax functions. The deployment established Oracle Cloud ERP as the system of record for executive and board-facing financial reporting and long-range financial planning. This work supported organization-wide financial management workflows under the CFO office. The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation concentrated on ERP Financial capabilities, with explicit configuration and process work in accounts payable automation, cash and liquidity management, tax processing, and financial reporting and planning. The business lead functioned as the implementation owner and configured payables workflows and electronic payment processing, driving an increase in electronic payments from 25% to 61% in one fiscal year. Tax controls and reporting workflows were embedded to produce audit-ready outputs and to support preparation of IRS Form 990 and Form 990-T. Financial planning and modeling workflows were instrumented within the Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules to supply executive-grade projections. Operational coverage extended across Accounting and broader Finance functions and intersected with enterprise initiatives including Supply Chain transformation, Enterprise Prioritization, Enterprise Risk and Compliance, Regulatory Council, and Business Continuity. The implementation served as the primary financial ledger and cash management engine supporting audited financial statement preparation and external tax partner coordination. Day-to-day operation and governance remained with the CFO office and the Accounting team, which managed relationships with external auditors and tax advisors to align system outputs with statutory and audit workflows. Governance for the Oracle Cloud ERP deployment emphasized finance-led process ownership, centralized payables controls, and oversight of tax compliance including sales and use tax, property tax filings, and annual IRS filings. Rollout and ongoing operations maintained close ties to executive reporting and long-range planning activities. A documented outcome tied directly to the ERP implementation was the material shift in accounts payable execution to electronic payments, reflecting targeted automation and process redesign within the ERP financial stack. Ongoing responsibilities from the finance leadership included cash and liquidity management through COVID-19 impacts and participation in enterprise risk and compliance programs.

Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2021 2021
In 2021 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday deployment, aligning to the Absence and Leave Management category and embedding absence workflows into the organization's human capital platform. The implementation was delivered as a full life cycle program that included Workday core HCM, Payroll, Benefit, Absence Management and compensation modules, driven by the Manager HR Shared Services who led project management, vendor evaluation and executive decisioning based on cost benefit analysis. Workday Absence Management was configured to support absence plans, leave request workflows, approval routing and absence balance calculations, reflecting standard Absence and Leave Management functional terminology. The program emphasized configuration for compliance oriented leave types, integration points to payroll and benefits modules, and testing scripts for end to end, UAT and parallel testing to validate absence pay rules and eligibility logic. The deployment included explicit system integration work with five vendor providers, BCBS, MCP, COBRA, ICIMS and Sterlings, executed within a condensed timeframe to synchronize benefit feeds, eligibility data and background screening outputs with the Workday tenant. Operational coverage spanned Human Resources, HR Shared Services and ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital cross functional teams, enabling absence processes to be consumed by payroll, benefits administration and talent workflows. Program governance was established through seven workstreams, executive level decision forums and standard operating procedures for risk management, issue escalation, change control and reporting. Resource management and training were formalized, including coaching of 10 workstream leads, creation of a detailed project plan and a testing calendar to coordinate end to end scenario execution and mitigate single points of failure. The program produced several explicit deliverables, including the rollout of absence management alongside strategic initiatives such as the Short term income replacement program, University of Memphis internship program, Performance management application and Talent Connect. Data cleanup activities uncovered significant financial discrepancies that were remediated, and integrations with benefits and hiring vendors were completed to operationalize leave and payroll interoperability.

Epic Systems Legacy EPIC EHR Electronic Health Record ERP Services and Operations n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital implemented EPIC EHR, an Electronic Health Record solution, to centralize clinical records at its Memphis campus. The deployment targeted clinical operations supporting inpatient and outpatient care as well as research clinic workflows within the hospital. EPIC EHR configurations emphasized standard Electronic Health Record functional modules including clinical documentation, computerized provider order entry, medication administration records, scheduling, and clinical decision support. Configuration work included role based access controls, clinical content build for specialty workflows, and change control for ongoing clinical content updates. Interfaces were established to support interoperability with ancillary systems such as laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy systems using standard clinical messaging and interoperability protocols. Integration efforts aligned EPIC EHR with institutional scheduling and revenue cycle touchpoints to ensure clinical and operational workflow continuity. Operational governance for EPIC EHR is staffed internally, with an EHR Application Analyst engaged since April 2021 and a Sr Clinical Applications Analyst in place from March 2023, both operating in a hybrid model based in Memphis. These roles manage configuration, application support, clinician engagement, and ongoing governance processes to sustain the EHR environment.
