| Hitachi | Legacy | Hitachi Ellipse EAM (formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM) | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Transport for NSW implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM to support Enterprise Asset Management across its transport asset base. The vendor relationship with Hitachi framed configuration and rollout decisions, and Supplier Enablement Officer activity from August to October 2016 focused on enabling suppliers and coordinating cross-agency user support. The initiative was positioned within the statutory authority’s Transport Equip area and targeted procurement, maintenance and supplier-facing workflows.
The Hitachi Ellipse EAM application was configured to deliver core EAM capabilities including asset register consolidation, planned maintenance scheduling, work order management, inventory control and procurement enablement. Workstreams explicitly included supplier enablement across multiple systems, with integrations and joint workflows involving SAP and Ariba, extensive data cleansing to reconcile master data, and formal user acceptance testing. End-user training and process mapping translated procurement and maintenance procedures into Ellipse EAM operational workflows.
Operational scope covered procurement teams, maintenance operations and supplier management across Transport for NSW and partner agencies, with stakeholder engagement used to coordinate cross-agency adoption. Governance activities centered on risk and governance analysis, maintenance of procurement systems, and iterative UAT cycles to validate mapped processes. The implementation narrative emphasizes procedural alignment between Hitachi Ellipse EAM, SAP and Ariba, and the combination of data remediation, training, and stakeholder engagement to embed Enterprise Asset Management practices.

| Genetec | Legacy | Genetec Sipelia | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2016 | 2019 |
In 2016 Transport for NSW implemented Genetec Sipelia as part of a Genetec Security Center deployment, using the Genetec Sipelia application in the Collaboration category to centralize transit communications and security operations. The deployment targeted Sydney Trains operational workflows across the rail network and aimed to consolidate operator communications and video intercom control.
The implementation configured the Sipelia communications management module alongside Genetec Security Center video management to provide centralized call handling, audio and video intercom routing, alarm prioritization, and unified operator consoles for situational awareness. Genetec Sipelia was used to instrument help points and operator workstations, creating an integrated communications layer that sits with CCTV monitoring functions.
The solution integrated with CCTV systems and video intercom help points across approximately 300 stations in New South Wales, delivering unified monitoring for more than 13,000 cameras and 800 help points. Operational coverage focused on transit security and operations teams in the Australia region, consolidating monitoring and incident handling into a centralized operations environment.
Rollout emphasized operational standardization and reduced operator training friction through a single communications management interface, improving situational awareness across the network. The customer story published by Genetec explicitly references Genetec Sipelia usage and the unified monitoring outcomes for Sydney Trains.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft SharePoint | Enterprise Content Management | Content Management | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 Transport for NSW implemented Microsoft SharePoint for Enterprise Content Management as the central collaboration and document repository for the CREST MHS Project. The SharePoint deployment was provisioned to support cross-functional cloud, on-premises and hybrid workstreams and to provide a single source of truth for PMO artefacts across six plus technical workstreams, the Project Control Group and the IT ISSI Steering Committee.
Configuration focused on structured document libraries, RAID logs, action registers, fortnightly Transition Project Status Reports and Project Control Group packs, leveraging SharePoint versioning, metadata and permission models to align artefact lifecycle to the TfNSW PEFm methodology. Automation and workflow configuration were used to streamline document routing and approvals, while Planner Kanban boards provided sprint and milestone tracking linked to SharePoint-held project artefacts.
Integrations were explicit and operational, with Planview/PPM HUB integrated for RAID governance reporting and Microsoft Planner used for Kanban-style milestone monitoring, enabling consolidated status views and governance reporting. Operational coverage included PMO, project managers, workstream leads and IT operations, with coordination forums including fortnightly RAID Forums and Project Status Review meetings, and stakeholder engagement with service partners such as DXC, Datacom and Kyndryl to maintain aligned delivery outcomes.
Governance controls centered on maintaining up-to-date RAID logs, PSRs and action registers in Microsoft SharePoint to support decisions by the Project Control Group and Steering Committee, and on enforcing PMO standards through fortnightly reporting cadences. The SharePoint-based approach supported the transition activities across cloud, on-premises and hybrid streams with zero service disruption, enabled 95% closure of high-rated issues before escalation and contributed to a 25% reduction in schedule delays.
