| IRIS Software | Legacy | IRIS Financials Consolidation | Financial Consolidation and Close | EPM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, TDR Capital implemented IRIS Financials Consolidation to centralize accounting and reporting after its finance function had been supported by an associated hedge fund. IRIS Financials Consolidation, as a Financial Consolidation and Close solution, was selected with assistance from 3rd party consultants 4VCO and chosen for its flexibility to combine information across multiple funds and entities typical for a private equity firm.
IRIS Financials Consolidation was configured to support multi-company consolidation, multi-currency transaction posting, consolidated reporting and built-in enquiry facilities. The implementation was set up to enable role differentiated tasks, allowing an Accounts Assistant to post invoices and expense claims while senior finance staff run on demand consolidated reports, reflecting category-aligned capabilities for consolidation ledgers, reporting templates and enquiry workflows.
The deployment centralized TDR Capital’s finances into a single system and integrated with existing reporting tools including Vision Q&A to maximize report use and data visualization. Operational coverage was focused on the UK based Finance Team managing several funds and legal entities concurrently within the firm’s multi-layered organization, enabling consolidated accounting and reporting across the fund structure totaling €4.7 billion in funds and entities under management.
Implementation and rollout were supported by IRIS consultants whose product knowledge expedited issue resolution, and governance shifted reporting control in-house to standardize consolidation and reporting workflows. TDR worked directly with IRIS to suggest sector specific enhancements and established ongoing vendor support channels to sustain configuration and user support.
As an outcome TDR Capital gained full financial visibility of its multi-layered organization with minimal manual work, simplified processes and faster response to queries. User acceptance was strong across varying levels of accounting and IT knowledge, and the multi-currency facilities were reported as effective for posting and reporting in assigned currencies in real time.
