Last updated on 2021-07-13 09:02:23

Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by The AA and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 7500 The AA employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.

During our research, we have identified that The AA has purchased the following applications: Actian Avalanche Hybrid Cloud Data Warehouse for Analytics and BI in 2019, SAP Ariba for Procurement in 2017, SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial in 2017 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.

Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems The AA is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Actian Corporation , SAP , Egencia LLC or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.

We have been analyzing The AA revenues, which have grown to $1.37 billions in 2019, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for The AA intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

About the Customer

The AA with over 15 million members from the original 90, it's fair to say they have grown a bit; in fact, they're now the UK's largest motoring organisation, still going strong over a century later. From setting up our first motorbike patrols to piloting 'connected cars', they've got a unique history of embracing new technology and innovations to better serve you.

Scope and Challenges

The AA is leading a proof of concept project to upgrade from ECC6 (EHP5) to S/4 HANA. If the proof of concept is successful, this will form the basis of a business case that will be made for the full upgrade project in 2018.

The AA make the delivery of SAP Ariba (Contracts, Supplier Lifecycle andPerformance, Supplier Risk, Guided Buying and VIM) responsible for a combination of strategic sourcing and supplier/stakeholder relationship management. I currently manage vast varieties of categories, from Insurance to travel, it accounts for £20m spend. The role requires planning alongside stakeholders and directors to implement change within the AA. As part of my role, I ensure to not only negotiate but engage, drive behavior and influence stakeholders, supplier and colleagues.

Outcome and Implications

Have just completed an evaluation of SAP Ariba and will be the technical lead for the implementation of Ariba Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Procure to Pay throughout 2018.
