The deployment is operated and maintained by internal engineering and People Operations teams and is used across regions to manage discretionary and DTO requests.
Functionally, PTO Ninja centralizes time-off request intake, approval workflows, manager visibility dashboards, and team calendar aggregation. The application integrates directly with Slack and corporate calendar services to surface requests, deliver notifications, update team calendars, and enable notification-driven approvals, while automating status updates and handoffs between approvers. These capabilities align with standard Absence and Leave Management workflows such as request submission, approval routing, calendar synchronization, and manager acknowledgement.
Rollout and operational ownership remained with People Operations, which established standardized request and approval workflows and process automation to support distributed teams. The stated objectives for the In-House Absence Management deployment were to streamline time-off requests and improve manager visibility and handoffs across regions.
