The implementation emphasizes BackGround Screening functional capabilities such as screening order management, candidate consent capture, status tracking and adjudication queues, alongside configurable workflow automation for role-based review and compliance checkpoints. Sterling Background Check was configured to surface screening status in recruiter and HR dashboards and to manage exception routing and recheck workflows consistent with enterprise screening processes.
Operationally, Sterling Background Check was used alongside Workday for interview scheduling and candidate workflow orchestration, and ADP I-9 for I-9 processing, reflecting an onboarding stack where background screening status is part of the overall new hire progression. Coverage in practice included US, Canada and Cork Ireland new hires and was embedded in day one onboarding sequencing managed by Talent Operations and Talent Development teams.
Governance and workflow ownership rested with Talent Operations and Talent Development, who monitored background check status, routed exceptions to HR business partners, and integrated screening checkpoints into new hire communications and orientation scheduling. Role-based access and centralized case queues were used to enforce adjudication policies and support operational oversight of Sterling Background Check within TransUnion.
