TRAPIL Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by TRAPIL and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 884 TRAPIL employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that TRAPIL has purchased the following applications: Moodle LMS for Learning and Development in 2018, CARL Source Facility for Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) in 2014, SAP Business Objects XI R3.1 for Analytics and BI in 2013 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems TRAPIL is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Moodle , CARL Software , Hexagon or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing TRAPIL revenues, which have grown to $250.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for TRAPIL intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2018, TRAPIL deployed Moodle LMS as a public facing training portal hosted on its corporate website trapil.com. The Moodle LMS implementation addresses Learning and Development needs by centralizing online course catalog access for employees and external stakeholders through a web delivered platform.
The deployment uses Moodle LMS core capabilities including course management, user enrollment, role based access control, content delivery and assessment workflows to support onboarding, skills training and compliance learning. Administration and course authoring are run through web based site administration interfaces with content published on the trapil.com domain for direct learner access, and governance emphasizes course lifecycle, user provisioning and role management across training functions.

| CARL Software | Legacy | CARL Source Facility | Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 TRAPIL implemented CARL Source Facility to provide Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) capabilities across its maintenance organization. The CARL Source Facility deployment targeted the Poissy site and rolled out to approximately 800 users, aligning the application to TRAPIL maintenance, HSE, general services, and corporate direction functions.
The CARL Source Facility implementation included standard CMMS modules such as preventive maintenance planning, corrective work order tracking, operative work instructions, control sheets, and spare parts stock management, together with user rights administration and training workflows. The project team configured KPI dashboards and reporting constructs inside CARL Source Facility to support multi technical maintenance sections, and the implementation covered operator procedures, maintenance plans, and documented control sheets.
Integrations and data orchestration were explicit parts of the program, with SAP Business Objects used for centralized reporting and data visualization and PI System leveraged for Maintenance 4.0 use cases, including predictive maintenance via analysis of precursor signals and the creation of real time piloting screens. The implementation supported analytical indicators such as utilization rates, reliability, MTBF, MTTR, Pareto analysis and incident root cause tracking, and fed KPI sets for maintenance, HSE, and central management reviews; the Maintenance 2023 program included AMDEC analysis and a criticity study on 25000 assets.
Governance and rollout were led through a cross network working group that managed requirements definition, vendor selection, change management and user training, with local administration and training roles established to sustain the environment. Process artifacts included PDCA based maintenance policies, RACI matrices for plan revisions, contract management with GANTT planning and permit to work controls for SEVESO and ATEX site constraints, and annual CAPEX planning processes reflected in the maintenance investment cycle.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business Objects XI R3.1 | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 TRAPIL implemented SAP Business Objects XI R3.1 as its core Analytics and BI platform, establishing a site-level reporting capability at the Poissy operation. The deployment centered on a locally administered instance, with a designated local administrator responsible for daily platform management and user support.
SAP Business Objects XI R3.1 was configured to centralize and process operational and maintenance data, enable creation of complex reports and dashboards, and provide intuitive visualization layers for KPI monitoring. Functional capabilities explicitly implemented include data centralization, advanced report design, dashboarding, and decision support workflows that surface indicators for maintenance planning. The implementation emphasized KPI creation and tracking for maintenance, HSE, general services, and executive reporting.
The Analytics and BI environment was integrated with the site maintenance ecosystem, notably supporting Infor EAM GMAO operations with around 350 users and participating in the rollout of CARL SOURCE for approximately 800 users through working group activities. The SAP Business Objects XI R3.1 platform also fed dashboards used alongside PI System based maintenance 4.0 analytics, enabling real-time pilot screens and signal analysis for predictive maintenance use cases. Operational coverage named in requirements and governance included multi-technical maintenance sections, HSE, service généraux, and direction, with Poissy identified as the primary site.
Governance and process changes accompanied the platform work, including assignment of access rights, local administrator training and end user training, documentation of reporting requirements, and participation in vendor selection and change management for enterprise maintenance applications. The analytics work was used to support maintenance policy definition following PDCA principles, KPI generation such as MTBF and MTTR, Pareto and incident analysis, and the operationalization of predictive maintenance through precursor signal analysis and real-time dashboards.
