In 2011, Trinity College implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as an ERP Financial solution to centralize finance and HR administrative processing across the campus. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured to support multiple functional modules including payroll and timekeeping, HR case management, and finance check printing using native PeopleSoft HR and Finance functionality. The program also included interface and usability enhancements to make PeopleSoft less menu driven and more user friendly, and an upgrade of the Cognos reporting environment to broaden reporting and analytics access.
The implementation extended beyond finance and HR into operational touchpoints such as Admissions and other administrative offices through the addition of a document imaging and workflow solution initially deployed for Admissions and later rolled out to administrative units. Trinity also deployed an online applicant submission capability for job candidates using a third party application, and developed an online application form for the Graduate Program, integrating those intake processes with PeopleSoft records and downstream HR and student administrative workflows.
Trinity’s project management led governance and rollout activities, coordinating process redesign for electronic time sheets for hourly staff and student employees and launching online performance evaluations to standardize reviews. The initiative consolidated check printing into PeopleSoft’s HR and Finance systems and expanded imaging and workflow across administrative offices, delivering a more user friendly ERP Financial environment and broader operational coverage without introducing external implementation partner references.
