| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019, TRUMPF implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform under the ONE Finance program. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment targeted the company's corporate finance and controlling landscape to introduce value-based and segment-based profitability analysis tied to a revised management accountability model.
The project used a minimally invasive transformation approach to introduce the New G/L including profit center accounting and to consolidate a global chart of accounts. Thirteen separate charts of accounts and thirteen controlling areas were harmonized, reconciled, and integrated into the ONE Finance target structure. Configurations emphasized standardized templates to centralize financial master data and controlling structures.
cbs acted as implementation consultant during the program, providing financial and technical expertise across management and departmental stakeholders. The standardized template approach in SAP S/4 HANA reduced the effort required for worldwide SAP enhancements, system operation and maintenance and shortened the time to integrate new companies. The implementation aligned finance, controlling and corporate governance, enabling more decisive corporate governance structures through segment profitability and profit center reporting.
Outcomes explicitly cited by TRUMPF included greater transparency, lower costs, process optimization and safeguarding of the company's long term capacity for innovation. CIO Thilo Press credited the professional system transformation and the financial expertise provided by cbs in positioning TRUMPF to take full advantage of future transitions within the SAP S/4 HANA ecosystem. The SAP S/4 HANA adoption therefore serves as a foundational ERP Financial platform to align IT strategy with corporate strategy.

| Relayr, a Munich Re Company | Legacy | relayr Skyler | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, TRUMPF deployed relayr Skyler as an Asset Performance Management application to support a new Pay-per-Part equipment-as-a-service model developed with Munich Re. The implementation tied the relayr Skyler Asset Performance Management platform directly to TRUMPF’s TruLaser Center 7030 offering, enabling a usage based commercial model where customers pay per finished cut sheet metal part rather than buying or leasing machines.
relayr Skyler was implemented to provide purpose built IIoT capabilities, including secure edge processing and centralized data management for continuous optimization and operations improvement. Functional capabilities emphasized machine telemetry ingestion, edge level processing, and ongoing performance monitoring to keep the highly automated laser cutter integrated across the full process from drawing to sorted part.
The deployment covered on site equipment orchestration, an integrated storage system, delivery of TRUMPF production know how, and the bundled service components and equipment maintenance required by the Pay-per-Part offer. The arrangement included Munich Re’s planned performance guarantee to underwrite the financial impact of potential production downtime, embedding risk transfer into the operational contract rather than into capital procurement.
Governance and process changes focused on shifting commercial and operational ownership away from traditional capital purchasing toward a consumption and service oriented model, positioning relayr Skyler to support service level monitoring, maintenance orchestration, and production responsiveness. The stated outcomes include more flexible production processes, faster response to market changes, the ability for customers to increase production capacity without large upfront investments, and insurance against downtime through the Munich Re guarantee.
