In 2018 Unisport Group implemented Clausion Financial Consolidation from Insightsoftware to address group consolidation challenges driven by acquisition-related structural change. The deployment targeted Financial Consolidation and Close capabilities to move away from fragile Excel-based group accounting and to centralize multi-currency consolidation workflows.
Clausion Financial Consolidation was configured to manage currency translation, intercompany eliminations, consolidated journal entries, chart of accounts mapping, and consolidation hierarchy management. The implementation included rule-based eliminations, period close orchestration, and audit trail and validation controls to support repeatable period-end processes.
The project standardized inbound trial balance and ledger extracts from multiple local accounting systems, normalizing subsidiary data and multi-currency balances for group consolidation. Operational ownership rested with group finance and consolidation teams, with local accounting teams supplying standardized feeds into Clausion Financial Consolidation for month-end and year-end closes.
Governance workstreams established consolidation hierarchies, mapping standards, close calendars, and approval workflows, alongside data quality checks to reduce manual reconciliation effort. As Group Financial Controller Taina Kujanpää noted, "Clausion was really the first thing that came to my mind when I started working at Unisport in 2017", reflecting the solution selection intent to stabilize and institutionalize group accounting processes.
