Operational integration centered on orchestration between UNFI recruiting teams and the Sterling Background Check service, with coordinators initiating and tracking screening processes and expediting external steps to maintain candidate flow. The solution was used alongside manual recruiting tasks rather than replacing a named prior product, and it supported cross-functional processes across talent acquisition, HR onboarding, and regional recruiting teams.
Governance and process changes focused on a formal cadence for pre-employment activity, routing of screening inquiries, secure filing of candidate documentation, and daily candidate communications to preserve pipeline accuracy. The implementation explicitly accelerated candidate cycle times and helped propel applicants through the pre-employment process quickly and efficiently, keeping the candidate pipeline accurate and up to date.
