| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS GETPAID | AR Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, UnitedHealth Group implemented FIS GETPAID as an AR Automation solution to centralize Optum receivables and collections workflows. The deployment collected and managed over 10,000 accounts for Optum’s clearinghouse ENS and operated alongside Sage ERP Accpac to review and manage customer receivables, establishing FIS GETPAID as the transactional hub for accounts receivable activities.
The implementation instrumented collections management capabilities, including account review workflows, payment plan negotiation processing, and account status tracking to support sustained engagement with hospitals, doctors, and third party billing companies. Configuration emphasized structured collections queues, documented payment arrangements, and workflow-driven case handling for outstanding receivables.
Integrations were explicit with Sage ERP Accpac for ledger and receivable data exchange and with Optum’s clearinghouse ENS for account feeds and reconciliation inputs. Operational scope focused on consolidation of Optum accounts receivables to a single collections team, with governance changes that formalized collections ownership and standardized negotiation and escalation processes across billing and revenue cycle functions.

| UKG | Legacy | UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2008 | 2009 |
In 2008 UnitedHealth Group implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) to centralize Absence and Leave Management within its HR organization, establishing a formal absence management platform to manage leaves, eligibility, and supporting documentation. The project scope concentrated on HR functional requirements for time and attendance, accruals, and leave workflows, with business rules and non‑functional requirements gathered from HR stakeholders to drive configuration decisions.
Configuration work focused on leave of absence reasons, eligibility rules, required documentation, and calculated accruals, and included detailed pay rule and workrule development to align time calculations with payroll conditions. The implementation included configuring shift differentials, accruals, holiday schedules for union employees, wage profiles, paycode profiles, labor levels and labor level sets, schedule rules and adjustment rules, as well as Time Off Request, Calendar, Timecard Attestation, Attendance, Activities, and Advance Scheduler capabilities.
The technical footprint encompassed Kronos Workforce Core releases from v3.x through v8.x and related modules such as Navigator, Leave, Process Manager, Setup Data Manager, Advance Scheduler, and Org Maps and Jobs. Integrations and interfaces were explicitly developed, including ADP eTime interoperability and multiple Workforce Integration Manager interfaces, while Data Collection Manager and Workforce Device Manager were used to configure Kronos 4500 and 480 devices. The delivery team produced complex T-SQL artifacts, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, views and joins to support interfaces and reporting, and created testing workbooks and global UAT execution plans to validate Pay Rules, Person Import, Payroll Export, Punch Import/Export and Schedule Export scenarios.
Operational governance established production support and helpdesk coordination for WFC, WFA, Leave and Process Manager, assigning call tickets, prioritizing support activities and maintaining day to day operations for analytics, attendance, scheduling and pay issues. Administrative configuration and maintenance tasks included managing pay rule and workrule libraries, FAPs, Genies, Hyperfind queries, Scheduler Org Map and ongoing Kronos system administration and support activities to sustain absence and leave management processes.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, UnitedHealth Group deployed AppWorx Workload Automation as part of a Business Process Management initiative for a Minnesota-based Full Stack development project. The implementation of AppWorx Workload Automation was centered on enterprise job scheduling and workload orchestration to coordinate ETL jobs, API calls, and database procedures within the broader application stack.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to schedule and trigger ETL workflows built in Node.js, orchestrate calls to third party APIs, and execute Oracle database functions and stored procedures, providing centralized control of time and event driven jobs. The implementation linked automated scheduling to application-level processes developed with Angular 6 and Node.js, enabling orchestration of reusable microservices, logging microservices, and Swagger documented APIs.
Integrations were explicit and multilayered, AppWorx scheduled calls targeted Oracle via the oracledb module and third party APIs protected behind an Apigee gateway that handled authentication and authorization. The delivery pipeline tied job execution and application releases into GitLab source control and a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline that deployed to Azure App Services running Nginx, using SSH and rsync for releases. Operational telemetry and logging were integrated across Splunk and Azure Application Insights with OpenTelemetry customizations and alerting, while Terraform scripts and Azure resource modules were used to automate app service scaling, Traffic Manager and WAF configuration.
Operational governance aligned scheduling and development to Agile and JIRA processes, with TDD and BDD test automation using Cucumber, Mocha and Jasmine, and a GitLab merge request policy to control environments. Authentication flows used JWT and OAuth 2.0 for API protection, and the AppWorx scheduling layer was embedded into existing workflows to centralize execution of job streams across application modules. This configuration positioned AppWorx Workload Automation as the central Business Process Management engine coordinating ETL, API and database workloads within UnitedHealth Group's application ecosystem.
