In 2019, Vestas implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial deployment to enable automated failure-report workflows for wind turbines. The implementation centered on a customized Safety Alert workflow that provides immediate access to relevant documents when an alarm occurs, tying SAP S/4 HANA to operational incident handling for field teams.
The configuration leveraged SAP Document Management System capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA, including release control, stamping, and document control and monitoring functions to secure and version PDF failure reports. Custom Fiori elements and OData service endpoints were configured to generate a URL per alarm event, which triggers retrieval of the corresponding PDF documents from SAP S/4 HANA and simplifies the SAP DMS user experience.
Operational integration connected the SAP S/4 HANA document flows to a Vestas self-service portal, enabling automatic distribution of failure reports to external engineers, technicians, and maintenance workers via the generated URL. Netcare International partnered on development, implementing the connector logic between alarm status changes, SAP DMS document triggers, and portal delivery to external stakeholders.
Governance relied on SAP DMS release control and stamping to enforce safety and auditability, while the Safety Alert workflow restructured frontline document access and incident response processes. The solution is described as cloud-ready and S/4HANA-capable, and it delivered automatic document distribution, simplified SAP DMS operations, and controlled document release for safety-critical field responses.

In 2016 Vestas implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of the global MyHR program to standardize pay planning and reward workflows. The deployment targeted Vestas' global HR population under the Compensation Management category and was coordinated alongside program tracks for Employee Central, Goal and Performance, Learning, Recruiting, Onboarding and Analytics during the 2016 to 2018 program window.
SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured to support standard compensation management capabilities, including eligibility rules, pay component configuration, merit and bonus cycle workflows, approval routing and calibration processes. The implementation emphasized integration with SuccessFactors Goal and Performance to enforce variable pay eligibility and to bring performance data into compensation rounds.
The Compensation implementation was integrated with SuccessFactors Employee Central to source global HR master data and to drive population segmentation for compensation cycles. Operational integrations referenced in program documentation include HR ServiceNow for HR help desk case flows, RPA plus DocuSign for document handling, and synchronization with global payroll providers including SAP payroll, ADP Streamline, ADP GlobalView, ADP Kronos eTIME and Alight for downstream pay execution and payroll reconciliation.
Governance and rollout were managed through the MyHR program governance structure under a global program lead, with central HR shared services operating alongside regional HR operations in APAC and other regions. The program centralized compensation and reward services into the global HR shared services model, introduced standardized workflows and calibration governance, and aligned compensation processes with global master data and payroll consolidation efforts.
