| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019 Viridian Glass implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core financial system, deploying a S/4HANA Cloud Essentials configuration to address group accounting across New Zealand and Australia within the ERP Financial category. The engagement included a Senior S/4HANA Financials Consultant on contract from July 2019 through March 2020, reflecting a focused financials implementation window for the manufacturer.
The implementation concentrated on core financial modules, configuring general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting and period-end close capabilities in SAP S/4 HANA. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts design, fiscal period management and financial reporting structures consistent with ERP Financial functional requirements, with standardization of master data and ledgers across NZ and AU operations.
Governance work during the rollout instituted role based access for finance teams, standardized month end close workflows and updated accounting process documentation to align with the new S/4HANA Cloud Essentials architecture. The project scope and staffing indicate an implementation oriented to centralizing financial processes and controls for Viridian Glass within the SAP S/4 HANA environment.

| Frontier Software | Legacy | Frontier Software Chris21 Payroll | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Viridian Glass implemented Frontier Software Chris21 Payroll to centralize its Payroll function. The deployment supported weekly New Zealand payroll processing and ongoing payroll application maintenance performed by an on-site Payroll Officer, with operational coverage that documented weekly runs for over 300 employees despite the company reporting 150 direct employees.
Frontier Software Chris21 Payroll was configured to support core Payroll processing, employee master data maintenance, statutory payroll forms and returns, payroll document management, and month end general ledger journal entries and accruals. The implementation included routine application maintenance and procedural documentation, with the Payroll Officer responsible for completing payroll cycles, maintaining Chris21 configuration, and supporting payroll statutory submissions.
The payroll environment integrated explicitly with existing HR and operational systems, personnel information being maintained in SAP and time and attendance managed through Kronos, with payroll document storage using File Vision and general ledger postings recorded in VCare. These integrations established data flows from Kronos time captures and SAP master records into Frontier Software Chris21 Payroll and downstream finance reconciliation in VCare.
Governance and operational workflows were structured around a small HR and payroll team, with the Payroll Officer providing day to day processing, payroll query resolution, and HR administrative support, and escalation to the Payroll Manager for exception handling. Work instruction maintenance and payroll section documentation were part of the operational controls, supporting consistent payroll processing and compliance with statutory requirements.
