In 2019 Walmart de Mexico y Centroamerica implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR solution, migrating structured personnel data from Oracle PeopleSoft HCM into the new platform. The implementation ingested information for more than 240,000 associates and transferred roughly 30 million records to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to support centralized HR processing and payroll-ready employee master data.
The deployment included two purpose-configured modules, Central Employee CE and Central Employee Payroll ECP, with over 5,000 payroll calculation rules configured to support statutory and contractual payroll complexity. Design and configuration work produced 29 interfaces, and reporting capabilities were configured to generate statutory outputs for IMSS, Infonavit and Fonacot, aligning the Central Employee Payroll ECP module with Mexican regulatory requirements.
Integration scope delivered 29 interfaces and 18 active integrations with on-premise and line-of-business systems such as ODIN, savings account systems, TAS, Data Learning and SIGHO among others, to synchronize organizational structure, benefits and payroll inputs. The platform was provisioned on the company portal MY site, enabling associates to access SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with their username and password, and the program recorded its first live transactional activity on September 2 under the Senior Vice Presidency of Human Resources.
Governance and rollout spanned an 18 month program with cross-functional participation, including Legal, ISD, AsCorp, Operations, DA, Ethics and Compliance, GBS, suppliers and Human Resources. Training and change activities included 22,428 hours of courses, 157 multidisciplinary team members, 71 working groups and training for over 1,500 HR leaders, supporting the stated objective of streamlining management processes and establishing a more simplified, adaptable digital culture within Human Resources.
