| Serrala | Legacy | Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2008 | 2008 |
In 2008, Waters Corp implemented Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable as its AP Automation solution for the finance organization. The Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable deployment was executed alongside SAP FI/CO and FSCM workstreams to centralize accounts payable processing and to align credit, collections, and dispute workflows with the company financial operations.
The implementation included detailed Accounts Payable configuration such as vendor account groups, number ranges, tolerance groups, Accounts Payable Purchase Order Materials, and SAP payment program F110 setup. The project also covered AP functional controls including lockbox handling, ERS process configuration, workflow for service entries, intercompany billing automatic posting to vendor accounts, and setup of reconciliation procedures tied to Telepoint and SAP.
Architecturally the Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable deployment was integrated with SAP ECC financial components and FSCM Credit Management, Collection Management, and Dispute Management modules. The team designed process integration points for dispute management and AR, executed Business Partner setup and migration mapping between customer and business partner objects, and worked with ABAP development to deliver upload interfaces and customer specific enhancements in A/P, A/R and tax areas. The program also incorporated external AP software integration experience with Dolphin PTS and EDI based intercompany posting mechanisms.
Governance and rollout emphasized process documentation and change control, the project team documented as-is and to-be processes in narrative and visual flows, prepared FSCM and AP test scripts, and performed unit and integration testing. User training and knowledge transfer to IT support teams were conducted to establish ongoing operational support, and post go-live support included updates to handle SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Pack 5.
The architecture design for AP Automation and broader AP and AR automation workstreams included gap analysis, deployment readiness testing and change management, work that the project noted as contributing to cost savings and process improvement. Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable served as the focal AP Automation application in Waters Corp finance, connecting AP transaction processing to credit controls, collections, dispute handling and SAP financial systems.
