| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Wawa implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support ERP Financial operations tied to a broader digital eCommerce initiative. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment was executed alongside SAP CAR POSDTA POSDM and SAP ECC IS-Retail POS Inbound workstreams that focused on retail point of sale data flows and financial accounting integration.
The implementation included explicit workstreams for SAP CAR POSDTA POSDM and SAP ECC IS-Retail POS Inbound, delivering POS data ingestion, POS data management and retail inbound posting capabilities into the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 finance ledger. Configuration emphasis aligned with retail financial workflows, including POS settlement, inbound posting to sales and revenue ledgers, and integration-ready data models for downstream reporting.
Integrations were coordinated across multiple applications in the initiative, notably Commercetool and Talend for commerce and ETL orchestration, SAP CAR POSDTA POSDM for POS data processing, SAP BW for analytical reporting, and SAP ERP ECC 6.0 for core financial posting. Data flow design centered on POS data capture in SAP CAR, normalization via POSDTA and POSDM, inbound posting into SAP ECC IS-Retail, and aggregation into SAP BW for reporting and reconciliation.
Governance relied on consultant-led delivery for the SAP CAR POSDTA POSDM and SAP ECC IS-Retail components, with cross-functional coordination between eCommerce, retail operations and finance teams to standardize POS data models and reporting feeds. Reporting and reconciliation processes were explicitly included as part of the implementation scope to ensure financial records in SAP ERP ECC 6.0 aligned with POS transaction streams.
