In 2007, Webim implemented Webim, a Chatbots and Conversational AI application, to provide an on-site conversational layer for customer engagement on its website. The deployment uses the vendor Webim’s web chat widget as the primary access point, embedding conversational flows directly into site pages to capture inbound customer queries and initiate automated responses.
The implementation configures automated conversational workflows combined with live operator handoff, session routing and conversation history capture to support synchronous and asynchronous customer interactions. Functional capabilities observed include automated message handling, agent escalation, and transcript retention to preserve context across sessions, consistent with Chatbots and Conversational AI application patterns.
Operationally the Webim deployment is scoped to customer-facing support and sales interactions on the corporate website, impacting front-line support workflows and sales inquiry handling. Governance was organized around chat operator workflows and response procedures, with process adjustments to incorporate real-time routing and escalation rules for web-based conversations.
