Workday Ellucian Banner ERP Workday Financial Management ERP Financial ERP Alchemy Data Centers 2016 2016
In 2016, Wellesley College implemented Workday Financial Management as its ERP Financial system. The Banner ERP to Workday implementation was led by a Business Systems Analyst who served as the technical and functional lead for HCM, Payroll, and Financials, and who acted as the first point of contact for consultation to functional areas of the College. The deployment configured Workday Financial Management modules including Budget, Financial data model, Finance Reporting, Grants and Awards, Expense and Procurement, together with HCM adjacent capabilities such as Payroll, Time tracking, Absence, and Benefits. Configuration work focused on establishing the canonical financial data model and finance reporting structures to support college fund accounting and sponsored awards workflows. Data migration and integration activity involved moving financial and payroll related records from Ellucian Banner ERP into Workday, and establishing interfacing patterns between Workday Financial Management and campus administrative systems used by finance and HR teams. The implementation covered institutional finance and payroll operations across Wellesley College, with configurations aligned to departmental and grant administration processes. Governance and rollout were centralized under the Business Systems Analyst role, who managed functional configuration, user consultation, and coordination of technical delivery with implementation partner Alchemy Data Centers. Documentation and configuration handoffs emphasized finance reporting, grants and awards processing, procurement approval flows, and time and absence workflows for operational owners.
