In 2019, FirstService Residential implemented AvidInvoice as part of an AP Automation initiative to streamline accounts payable and ensure faster, more accurate vendor payments. The deployment targeted invoice capture and payment orchestration to remove manual paper handling across project managers and back office accounting.
AvidInvoice was configured to digitize incoming vendor invoices, centralize invoice indexing and approvals, and automate coding and posting workflows that had previously been handled manually. Before the implementation each paper invoice was collected individually, coded by a project manager and entered into the accounting system by Josephson, and the AvidInvoice configuration shifted those tasks into an automated invoice capture and routing flow.
The implementation included electronic payments through AvidPay to eliminate check writing and mailing, simplifying the payment lifecycle and confirming remittance without stapling checks to invoices. AvidInvoice was integrated with the company accounting system to enable straight through processing from invoice receipt to payment authorization, and the operational scope explicitly covered project management teams and back office AP functions.
Governance was restructured to centralize invoice processing and reduce administrative burden on job site staff, moving coding and validation into the centralized AP workflow. The result documented in the implementation notes shows that AP Automation lowered overhead cost, sped up the payments process and allowed back office processes to continue running without taking time away from job sites.

In 2017, FirstService Residential implemented Starlims Abbott eScreen for BackGround Screening. Starlims Abbott eScreen was used to centralize drug screening and candidate screening workflows within the companys HR operations and property management support processes.
The implementation focused on core BackGround Screening capabilities, including ordering and tracking pre-employment drug screens, managing candidate screening records, and handling results reporting and compliance-oriented documentation. Configuration work emphasized workflow orchestration between hiring requisitions and screening orders, with role-based access for HR generalists and property management stakeholders.
Operational use was tightly coupled to everyday HR and property manager activities, supporting more than 40 property managers and new hire orientation across three offices. Workflows documented in the operational playbook show initiation of background checks with Asurint and execution of drug screenings via eScreen, while unemployment claim handling and worker compensation paperwork were managed in parallel through ADP processes and HR casework. Learning assignments were administered through the companies LMS Skillsoft as part of onboarding and regulatory training programs.
Governance and case handling protocols were managed by HR generalists who used Starlims Abbott eScreen outputs to support employee relations investigations, OSHA related inquiries, and unemployment hearings. The rollout emphasized operational alignment between candidate screening, onboarding paperwork, and downstream HR processes rather than broad technical replatforming.

Functional configuration focused on online payments, recurring assessment billing, automated receipt posting, and accounts receivable reconciliation workflows consistent with Lease Management use cases.
Integrations connected the PayLease Online Payments portal to the company website and to accounting software, enabling automated posting of homeowner payments into billing and collections ledgers. Governance centered on centralized payment processing ownership by billing and accounting teams, with role based access, reconciliation workflow controls, and configuration to support HOA assessment collection processes, a model similar to the integration outcomes documented in the Wentworth Property Management case where website and accounting software integration transformed HOA collections.
