| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2022 |
In 2021, WMF Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform. The implementation targeted the company wide finance and controlling landscape for the German manufacturing group of about 6000 employees, aligning with an organizational transformation program that combined ERP and customer service modernization efforts.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment encompassed standard financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, financial close, and controlling functions. Configuration emphasized harmonized chart of accounts, company code structures, period close orchestration, and automation of financial master data workflows to support consistent reporting across business units.
Integrations were executed alongside a parallel Salesforce Service Cloud initiative, with design work to synchronize customer and service related master data between SAP S/4 HANA and Salesforce Service Cloud. Business intelligence and digital platform streams were coordinated to consolidate financial reporting and analytics, and considerations for IoT security informed data exchange and access controls between manufacturing systems and the ERP Financial layer.
Governance changes introduced centralized finance process ownership and master data governance, supplemented by structured change management and training for corporate finance and plant finance teams. The implementation narrative centers on embedding SAP S/4 HANA into WMF Group finance operations, unifying transactional finance, controlling, and reporting capabilities under the ERP Financial program.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, WMF Group implemented SAP HCM (HR) in the Core HR category for HR and payroll operations across its Geislingen site in Germany. The implementation record is reflected in sustained operational roles from 2017 through 2022 that indicate ongoing stewardship of SAP HCM (HR) functionality and payroll operations.
The deployment configured Core HR capabilities in SAP HCM (HR) with a focus on payroll accounting, time management, payslip creation, income tax certificate processing and statutory DEUEV notifications, plus organizational management and reporting. Implementation work included software development and adaptation of SAP HR to legal requirements, collective bargaining and company agreements, creation of SAP queries, preparation of program specifications for IT and execution of system tests.
Operational integrations documented in implementation activities included data transmission to communication servers and structured exchanges with external bodies such as BG, social insurance agencies SV, trade tax authorities, ZSS and the statistical state office for statutory filings and reserves. The solution supported a payroll shared service model with technical management of defined payroll groups, handling of final settlements and coordination with finance and accounting on accounting postings.
Governance and process changes were formalized through technical management and teamlead roles responsible for monitoring payroll accounting implementation, documenting accounting and time management issues, coordinating with the works council, training managers and employees and supporting HR IT digitization projects. System stewardship tasks encompassed supervision of the SAP HR system, running tests, creating program specifications and operationalizing payroll and HR reporting workflows.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | IBM | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, WMF Group migrated SAP BW (Business Warehouse) to SAP HANA as a central Data Warehouse effort to sharpen analytics for hospitality clients while maintaining manufacturing reliability. The SAP BW (Business Warehouse) implementation was positioned to accelerate reporting and to support new data initiatives such as IoT telemetry from coffee machines and coffee as a service offerings.
WMF Group deployed SAP BW (Business Warehouse) on an SAP HANA database to enable rapid queries on large volumes of operational and sales data. The finance and controlling module was the first to be trialed, with finance reports that previously took three to four hours completing in ten minutes, and some large jobs that had caused frequent errors now finishing in about an hour without fault. The migration to SAP HANA also produced a reported 79 percent database compression, reducing backup and restore windows by approximately 20 percent.
The deployment architecture was hosted in a new on-premises data center built around IBM Power System E850 servers virtualized with IBM PowerVM and running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications. Data was served from four IBM FlashSystem storage arrays virtualized with IBM Spectrum Virtualize and connected via IBM System Storage SAN24B-4 switches. WMF Group retained its core SAP ERP on the same IBM Power Systems hardware running IBM AIX and an SAP MaxDB database, enabling operational continuity across production systems and analytics.
IBM and SVA System Vertrieb Alexander GmbH supported the infrastructure refresh and the SAP BW migration, with the migration of SAP BW to SAP HANA completed over a single weekend to minimize downtime. Operational scope included finance, controlling and production operations, and the Data Warehouse was explicitly used to meet Groupe SEB onboarding and statutory reporting requirements. The program reduced physical server and storage footprint relative to an x86 equivalent, consolidated storage from three devices to two for a 50 percent device reduction, and delivered higher IO throughput and consistent availability to support both mission critical manufacturing workloads and new analytics use cases.
