In 2022, WorkCover Queensland implemented TechnologyOne ERP as a targeted ERP Financial initiative to consolidate finance reporting and control workflows across the organisation. The program was managed under an extended project engagement that ran from August 2022 through early 2024, with on-the-ground execution coordinated from Brisbane in a hybrid delivery model.
The TechnologyOne ERP implementation focused on core financial modules and reporting capabilities, including the creation and replacement of a set of finance extracts and reports used for statutory and external reporting. The Finance to the Cloud project delivered new report and extract pipelines to support reporting obligations to the ATO and the government audit office, and to facilitate reconciliation between WorkCover’s core insurance application CPIS and TechnologyOne financials.
Integrations were explicitly executed between CPIS and TechnologyOne financials to automate reconciliation flows and feed external reporting pipelines. Once the Finance to the Cloud outputs were validated the on premise instance of TechOne was decommissioned, with that phase completing in February 2023. Parallel enterprise workstreams included a SharePoint migration to SharePoint Online and a Customer Insights Platform procurement, which were coordinated alongside the ERP Financial program and involved third party suppliers for design and migration services.
Governance for the program included formal procurement and contract negotiation activities, a named project manager engagement, and distinct budgets for parallel projects, including a $0.8 million allocation for Finance to the Cloud, $0.9 million for the Customer Insights Platform, and $2.5 million for the SharePoint migration. Supplier management, contract negotiation with QITC, and phased rollout planning were used to sequence delivery, with the Customer Insights Platform supplier engagement beginning in October 2023 and Qualtrics procurement and initial delivery managed over a nine month period.
