In 2018, Bearded Iris Brewing Company implemented Ekos as its Food and Beverage ERP at the Nashville, Tennessee brewery. The deployment centralized core operational recordkeeping for a 20 person craft CPG brewer, establishing Ekos as the single system of record for purchasing, inventory and production coordination.
The Ekos implementation covered purchasing and order management, including creation and placement of purchase orders, lead time projection and vendor follow up. It established inventory management capabilities for item and ingredient master data, cycle and full inventory audits, tracking of item depletion rates, and coordination of item movement between primary and auxiliary storage locations. Production functionality was configured to reconcile invoices, Ekos purchase orders and inventory receipts, and to generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inventory reporting used by operations.
Operational ownership landed with the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator reporting to the Production Coordinator, who used Ekos for inbound order tracking, supplier relationship management and logistics coordination. Governance and workflow standardization were implemented around Ekos processes to enforce PO creation, receipt reconciliation and audit procedures, and to provide pullable operational data to support process improvement and planning.
