In 2018, Acal BFi implemented IRIS CascadeHR as its Core HR system. The deployment supported HR administration at Acal BFi UK Limited in Wokingham during an interim HR Manager assignment from June 2018 to August 2019. Acal BFi is an electronic component solutions manufacturer with a Wokingham site employing about 125 staff and a broader group headcount of approximately 600.
IRIS CascadeHR was used for core personnel management functions, including employee records and HR administration, absence and absence reporting, benefits administration, recruitment tracking, and performance management. The HR manager maintained the Cascade system day to day to manage employee lifecycle events, organizational design activities such as restructure and redundancy, and to generate HR statistics and reports for senior management. These modules align with standard Core HR capabilities for maintaining compliance and operational HR workflows.
Operational governance placed the HR manager on the senior management team with a direct reporting line to the Managing Director, which centralized HR decision making and accountability for employment law compliance, employee relations, disciplinary and grievance handling. The implementation supported employee engagement activities, Health and Safety committee participation, and the orchestration of performance management cycles across primarily sales and engineering roles. IRIS CascadeHR served as the system of record for case management and workflow driven HR processes at the Wokingham site.
The implementation scope was single site and role centric, focused on delivering reliable HR administration and statutory compliance in a stand alone HR management context. No system integrator was specified and the deployment emphasized internal ownership by the interim HR Manager. In 2014 Advanz Pharma implemented IRIS CascadeHR as its Core HR application to centralize employee records and enable self-service across UK and rest of world employees. Operationally the deployment included close data handoffs and managed communications with external payroll providers Deloitte and TMF for UK and global payroll runs, integration points for Aviva Auto Enrolment for Employers to administer pension enrolment, and structured reporting to HMRC. The HR function also coordinated benefit administration with financial brokers for private medical and group life schemes and maintained regular liaison between HR teams in India and the UK.
Governance and rollout activities emphasized data accuracy, policy maintenance in line with employment law, and end user enablement, with the HR Administrator assisting in the Cascade roll-out and delivering self-service training to employees.
