Almexa Aluminio | Manufacturing | 800 | $230M | Mexico | SAP | SAP R/3 - Materials Management (MM) | Inventory Management | 2001 | n/a | In 2001, Almexa Aluminio implemented SAP R/3 - Materials Management (MM) as its Inventory Management solution supporting procurement, warehouse and materials planning across its manufacturing operations. The deployment was delivered as an enterprise SAP R/3 installation serving core manufacturing sites in Mexico, aligning Inventory Management with production scheduling and purchasing workflows. The SAP R/3 - Materials Management (MM) implementation focused on material master governance, purchasing and procure to pay processes, goods receipt and inventory valuation, invoice verification and integration with MRP for materials planning. Functional integration extended into financial and costing modules, with explicit cross module links to FI and CO, and operational handoffs into WM, QM, PP and SD as part of end to end order and inventory lifecycle management. Master data loading and data quality were addressed using LSMW and custom programs Z, and ongoing data migration and cleanup was supported by cockpit migration tools referenced by the program team. Operational governance relied on formal AMS for incident management and a delivery model that coordinated internal and external consultants using Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban. Second and third level support practices included role and profile based security administration and master data stewardship, with the SAP environment participating in later compliance and fiscal update projects such as Carta Porte and CFDI 4.0 under the same operational support framework.

Almexa Aluminio | Manufacturing | 800 | $230M | Mexico | SAP | SAP R/3 - Production and Planning | Advanced Planning and Scheduling | 2001 | n/a | In 2001, Almexa Aluminio implemented SAP R/3 - Production and Planning as its Advanced Planning and Scheduling solution to standardize production planning and shop floor control across its manufacturing operations. The deployment centered on SAP R/3 Production and Planning modules, establishing master data for materials, bills of materials, routings, production orders and MRP execution to support material requirements planning and basic capacity scheduling. Configuration work included MRP run profiles, planning strategies, work center and resource definitions, and integration points with inventory and procurement processes. The implementation was aligned with the Advanced Planning and Scheduling category, supporting order release, shop floor order management and routing-based scheduling while relying on core SAP transactional integration with MM for material movements and with CO for cost collection and production cost accounting. Post go-live governance and operational support were structured around centralized SAP incident management and AMS ticketing, with second and third level functional and technical support for financials and cost modules. Master data governance and security practices were instituted, leveraging SAP data load and migration tools and role based access controls to maintain production master data quality and secure operational workflows across SAP modules.
