Apps Purchases: 10+ Million Software Purchases
Founded in 2010, APPS RUN THE WORLD is a leading technology intelligence and market-research company devoted to the application space. Leveraging a rigorous data-centric research methodology, we ask the simple B2B sales intelligence question: Who’s buying enterprise applications from whom and why?
Our global team of 50 researchers has been studying the digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by 2 million + companies including technographic segmentation of 10 million ERP, EPM, CRM, HCM, Procurement, SCM, Treasury software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions and perhaps the rise and fall of certain vendors and their products on a quarterly basis.
Apps Run The World Buyer Insight and Technographics Customer Database has over 100 data fields that detail company usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database, and different on-prem and cloud apps by function, customer size (employees, revenues), industry, country, implementation status, year deal won, partner involvement, Line of Business Key Stakeholders and key decision-makers contact details, including the systems being used by Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

Aquila Transportation | Transportation | 50 | $5M | United States | ORTEC | ORTEC Routing Suite | Transportation Management | 2020 | n/a | In 2020, Aquila Transportation implemented ORTEC Routing Suite as part of a Transportation Management initiative to move from manual planning to optimized route planning. Aquila Transportation serves more than 70,000 customers in the Balkans, operates over 800 vehicles across 17 distribution and cross-dock centers, and handles more than 6,000 orders per month, which framed the scale and operational requirements for the deployment. The implementation centered on ORTEC Routing and Dispatch within the ORTEC Routing Suite, augmented by ORTEC Mobile App, a Customer Track & Trace web portal, and a Cross-Dock Scanning and Slot Booking Platform. The solution was configured for automated route optimization and ETA calculation, a mapping algorithm to reduce wrong turns and select appropriate roads, dispatch workflows for both owned and subcontracted fleet, and mobile workflows for drivers to confirm jobs, register loading and unloading events, record empty pallets and refueling stops, and report on-route incidents. Integrations were explicit where stated, embedding navigation from HERE Technologies into the ORTEC Mobile App and linking the Cross-Dock Scanning Platform to barcode generation and Windows desktop scanning for warehouse staff. The combined deployment provides a logistics control tower offering visibility across the entire operation, supporting real-time updates from approximately 280 drivers and enabling customers to upload orders, book time slots, and track deliveries through the Customer Track & Trace web portal. Operational governance shifted from manual planner driven scheduling to centralized optimization and event driven confirmations, creating new workflows for dispatch acknowledgement, driver confirmations of loading and departure, and customer slot booking governance at cross-dock sites. The Cross-Dock Scanning and Slot Booking Platform introduced time slot governance with ramp availability and live pallet counts, while mobile reporting embedded structured exception handling into the planning and dispatch cycle. Outcomes reported in the project include faster delivery times and higher customer satisfaction, optimized route planning and dispatching, 4 percent savings in empty kilometers and improved fleet utilization, enhanced decision making capabilities, and fewer CO2 emissions. ORTEC Routing Suite and its components delivered increased transparency over planning and operations for Aquila Transportation. | |
