Howard Tenens | Transportation | 769 | $175M | United Kingdom | TomTom | TomTom Webfleet | Logistics Management,Fleet Management | 2015 | n/a | In 2015, Howard Tenens implemented TomTom Webfleet in the Logistics Management,Fleet Management category to support day to day transport operations across its United Kingdom network. The deployment positioned TomTom Webfleet as the operational telematics and fleet orchestration layer, linking route guidance, vehicle tracking, and driver communications to the company transport function. TomTom Webfleet is used as the primary fleet management application for real time driver advising and route updates. Configuration focused on vehicle tracking, route planning and driver messaging capabilities within TomTom Webfleet, with telematics data used to advise drivers of route changes and to populate operational records. Weekly run planning remained governed through the ORTEC planning system, while TomTom Webfleet served as the execution channel to relay planned runs and ad hoc revisions to drivers. The implementation included operational workflows for daily vehicle checks, fuel and mileage reporting, and scheduling prompts to support annual vehicle and trailer maintenance planning. Integrations were implemented with explicit operational systems and devices, including linkage to the ORTEC planning environment for run schedules, the TRUTAC system for driver hours and infringement reporting, and direct handling of Digicard and tachograph unit downloads for tachograph analysis. Operational coverage included transport managers, drivers and administrative staff, and extended to coordination with external driving agencies and customer liaison functions for late deliveries and extra loads. TomTom Webfleet data feeds were used to inform route cards, fuel stop planning and loading manifest workflows. Governance and process changes emphasized compliance with driver hours legislation and company policies, with structured workflows for downloading and analysing tachograph and Digicard data, reporting infringements via TRUTAC, and maintaining audit records for vehicle checks. Responsibility lines were defined so transport managers and nominated deputies could manage driver assignments, cover arrangements and operational exceptions through TomTom Webfleet. The implementation established TomTom Webfleet as the operational control plane for Howard Tenens fleet operations within the Logistics Management,Fleet Management domain. | |
