In 2024 Belvac went live with IFS Supply Chain Management, deploying a Supply Chain Management platform to align manufacturing and distribution operations across its global footprint. The deployment targeted inventory and production coordination for Belvac’s two-piece aluminum can machinery business, covering operational processes across 10 factories and supporting the company’s distribution channels in more than 150 countries. IFS Supply Chain Management was configured to implement core supply chain modules including inventory management, procurement and supplier collaboration, order management, warehouse management, and demand and production planning. Configuration work emphasized coordination between shop floor production sequences and supply replenishment, reflecting the specialized manufacturing flows for unwinding, forming, trimming, decorating and leak testing equipment. The implementation integrated IFS Supply Chain Management with Belvac’s accounting system and the production management system, enabling end-to-end data flow for inventory valuation, purchase commitments and production schedules. Data integration points focused on inventory levels, planned production orders, purchase orders and finished goods receipts, ensuring system-to-system synchronization between supply planning and financial records. Governance for the rollout established cross-functional ownership among supply chain, production and finance teams, with phased site-level activation starting in 2024 across manufacturing sites. Operational changes centered on centralizing inventory control, standardizing order-to-fulfillment processes and formalizing planning cadence between supply chain planners and production managers, using IFS Supply Chain Management as the transaction and orchestration backbone.
