Stratas Foods | Distribution | 600 | $85M | United States | IBM | IBM Maximo Inventory Management | Inventory Management | 2010 | n/a | In 2010, Stratas Foods implemented IBM Maximo Inventory Management to centralize inventory control across its manufacturing and distribution footprint. The IBM Maximo Inventory Management deployment targeted warehouse and inventory operations supporting facilities in Dallas and Houston, TX, Decatur and Quincy, IL, Englewood, NJ, Fresno, CA, Nashville, TN, and Valdosta, GA, with corporate governance and program oversight in Memphis, TN, aligning the application to the companys Inventory Management requirements. The implementation emphasized core Inventory Management capabilities including serialized and lot level tracking for raw materials and finished goods, receiving and scanning of inbound packages, order staging and shipping verification, monthly cycle and physical inventory processes, and daily production data entry and movement sheet recording. Operational features were configured to support label inventory control and shipping preparation workflows used by Shipping Clerks and supervisory staff, reflecting warehouse execution and materials control patterns typical for food ingredients and packaged goods producers. Operational integration points were implemented where explicitly required by site processes, with day to day interactions documented between IBM Maximo Inventory Management and PMOS for production and materials data entry, and with procedural handoffs to spreadsheet based shipping efficiency trackers. The deployment accommodated role based processes such as 2nd shift shipping clerk order preparation, appointment scheduling for inbound and outbound trucks, and receipt recording that included scanning and completing inbound transactions in Maximo. Governance and process changes were formalized around warehouse and shipping roles, records management, and quality practices, with responsibilities defined for Shipping Clerks, Supervisors, and production schedulers. Rollout and operational procedures preserved adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP controls, and incorporated Maximo usage into routine tasks such as monthly inventory, movement sheet entry, and detention tracking to ensure consistent inventory stewardship across sites. | |
