Oracle Retail (ex Retek) was positioned to support merchandising and store operations while providing centralized retail management capabilities across supply chain and inventory domains. The implementation focused on functional modules including Oracle Retek RMS, Purchase Orders, Order Management and Assortment Management, supported by formal requirements elicitation, use cases and user stories. Workstreams produced business process mapping and functional design documentation, system and data analysis outputs, and Business Objects training, while quality assurance covered unit, system, integration and user acceptance testing. Integration work included EDI standardization and technical orchestration with JDA E3, ASR, AWR and SPI components, and maintenance of AS400 test environments to support end-to-end commerce and replenishment workflows. The project served Global Sourcing, Market Availability, Visual Presentation, Merchandising, Logistics, Inventory Accounting and Transportation business teams and supported two company acquisitions during rollout. Governance and operationalization were delivered through As-Is and To-Be modeling, a Migration and Deployment Lead role, and system specialist SME coverage for implementations, upgrades, maintenance and support. Operational support responsibilities included onboarding contract employees, first level production support and on-call second level production support.
