Woodside Energy | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 4718 | $8.6B | Australia | Quorum Business Solutions | Quorum Aucerna Corporate Planning | EPM | 2018 | n/a | In 2018, Woodside Energy implemented Quorum Aucerna Corporate Planning from vendor Quorum Business Solutions to centralize exploration planning and portfolio management for its exploration division. The initiative addressed an inventory of over 200 international exploration and prospect leads and targeted shortcomings in data management, budgeting, long term planning, performance monitoring and active portfolio management within cross functional teams. Quorum Aucerna Corporate Planning was deployed with a central Dataflow life of field data management solution that served as a centralized data repository and standardization layer. The deployment emphasized standardized modelling procedures, auditable version control and a comprehensive reporting suite that reproduced existing templates, enabling repeatable document generation and multiscenario analysis at both asset and corporate levels. As an EPM application, the implementation focused on portfolio and long term planning workflows, scenario building and operationalizing a single source of truth for planning data. Operationally, the solution combined core prospect level data from third party systems with title level artefacts such as maps, seismic cross sections, budget and economic data inside Dataflow, simplifying collaboration across geoscience, subsurface and commercial teams. The platform supported decision workflows for determining prospects to include in the drilling programme and feeding approved data into budgeting and performance monitoring processes, enabling continuous updates to planning inputs. Governance controls introduced audit capable versioning and an evergreen database state to facilitate on demand analysis using the latest approved data, improving data integrity and accessibility. The deployment reduced the portfolio management cycle from weeks to days, accelerated evaluation of new opportunities against the existing portfolio and restored confidence in the robustness and accuracy of Woodside Energy planning methodologies. | |
