Maicao | Retail | 1230 | $256M | Chile | Oracle | Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning | Advanced Planning and Scheduling | 2016 | n/a | In 2016 Maicao began a corporate implementation of Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning for its merchandising and planning organization, with a team assignment spanning March 2016 to March 2017. The program covered three Oracle Retail modules, Retail Demand Forecasting RDF, Advanced Inventory Planning AIP, and Category Management CM, and the work was aligned to the Advanced Planning and Scheduling application class. The implementation centered on configuring Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning to deliver demand forecasting workflows, multi echelon inventory planning and replenishment, and category level assortment and space planning. Retail Demand Forecasting RDF was used to centralize statistical forecasting and override workflows, Advanced Inventory Planning AIP was configured for reorder point and allocation logic alongside safety stock and inventory optimization capabilities, and Category Management CM was implemented to standardize category planning and item assortment processes. Operational integration focused on standard retail data flows, with the application consuming point of sale sales streams, inventory feed updates, SKU master and store hierarchies to drive replenishment and category plans. The rollout targeted corporate planning and merchandising teams and extended to store replenishment processes, creating a single planning instance at the corporate level to coordinate SKU level demand, allocation, and assortment decisions across Maicao stores in Chile. Governance changes included establishing centralized planning ownership, formalized forecasting and approval workflows, and data stewardship for master data used by RDF, AIP, and CM. Training and phased cutover work occurred throughout the March 2016 to March 2017 project window to operationalize advanced planning and scheduling practices within merchandising and supply chain functions. | |
